Pen Okay I'm crying over here I have cried on and off throughout NOKKen.OMG I am so in love with this series I swear if they were all out I wouldn't be able to function I would be glued to my kindle. This is the second book in the Undraland series and if you haven't read the first please do this one starts off where book one ended. Lucy and Jamie are sick and everyone seems to know what's going on except Lucy, her head is killing her and now she's hearing Jamie's voice in her head. She discovers she is Laplanded with Jamie when they killed the werebear together they killed a soul and became permanently joined. No not like being married but they always have to stay close together and they can hear each others thoughts as well as some other life changing things I won't spoil....but Lucy is helping to save Jamie from his curse.Jamie is just as charming as any Prince you'll ever read about he is kind and gentle and seems to love caring for the people around him. He wears his heart on his sleeve but can still kick some serious butt when necessary what more could a girl ask for.The merry band of misfits are continuing on their quest to break all the portals, but the mission is getting more dangerous each time and the Mouthpiece seems to be onto them.Even with the danger all around them we are able to get to know everyone a little better. Lucy and Nik get to have a real heart to heart in a touching scene after everyone goes to bed and it brought me to tears. Jens and Lucys relationship is fantastic I love watching them grow together, they are learning to rely on each other to realize that is what love is. At one point she tells him she “What a waste to’ve missed looking at you during the years you had to be invisible.”My word I couldn't take it They are such a wonderful pair, Jens is getting sweeter by the minute. I swear half the book is highlighted with lines I have to reread. The end is going to drive anyone with a love of this series crazy as you think nonstop about it until book 3!!

By Sarit This is the second book in the Undraland series and if you haven't read the first please do this one starts off where book one ended. Lucy and Jamie are sick and everyone seems to know what's going on except Lucy. Now she's hearing Jamie's voice in her head. She is in Laplanded with Jamie because they killed awerebear together. The awerebear has a soul that Pesta put inside him and from killing him together and they became permanently joined. As a result, they always have to stay close together and they can hear each others thoughts as well as some other life changing things I won't spoil....but Lucy is helping to save Jamie from his curse. So anything can be more complicated it will be, as Jamie love Jen's sister and laplanding is usually good for married people. Luckily, Jamie is just as charming as any Prince you'll ever read about he is kind and gentle and seems to love caring and together they will figure this laplanding thingy. The merry band of misfits are continuing on their quest to break all the portals of Pesta to Be, but the mission is getting more dangerous each time and the Mouthpiece seems to be onto them.Pesta, is a siren was the one which the inhabitants of Undraland banished to Be. It was after she and her sisters started to be too dangerous to them. She was the only one that they didn't kill (They couldn't destroy all her race)and was the strongest one. She control be and those who was tired to live anymore came to the her gates, fill the right papers and admitted to her realm. The price for this heaven was to give her their right hand (hands has magic quality for the sirens. If you were a good soul Pesta will let your soul into a bear. The problem is that Pests, is tired from confined to Be. She want to get out, she want more souls, she want more power and she prepare a new gate to Be from the human realm. The first problem is that the human realm isn't belong to Undra and she don't have this kind of agreement with them. The second problem is she is going to built this gate from the bones of Lucy partial human parents (each gate built from the bones of the right race of Undra, usually from one strong family) and because she don't have enough bones she need to take them from Lucy.Nik the Nokken which mean, he can convince you about things , make you think things and do them by singing to you). Nik is full of talking. He always glade to tell about his bravery and battle wins. The weird thing is he don't have any scares. When Lucy learned Nik secrete they get to share a real heart to heart in a touching scene after everyone goes to bed and it brought me to tears. The second book made me laugh too, but I had some problem with Lucy character. As 20 year , I had this issue of none mature behavior, which sadly ruin my enjoyment of this second book.

I give Nokken 5 stars By Sarah Shellard When I like the first book in a series, as I did with Mary Twomey's Undraland, I usually pick up the second with some trepidation. The first book always gives me a clear vision of what the second should tackle, and I worry that the Author won't see it as clearly as I do. I also worry that the Author will forget or miss what was interesting, unique, and important about the story. Mary Twomey's Nokken (Undraland Book 2) does not disappoint in any way. Nokken is the perfect Book 2.Nokken is fast paced, fun, and deep. Each character progresses realistically along their dynamic change arcs, the story's arcs progress just how they should, and the pacing is perfect. In Nokken, Twomey's writing becomes spellbinding, and her subject matter matures as her characters do.While I will admit that Twomey has a distinctly feminine voice in the Undraland series, and that many of her characters are hot guys (YAY), thinking either book is a romance or 'just for girls' would be a mistake on the part of the reader. The Fantasy is fascinating, and the Theme of Nokken seems, to me, to be about Respect. Knowing what I do of the world now, in my late 30's, I have developed a soft spot for writers who not only know what they want to say to improve the conditions in the world we live in, but who, like Mary Twomey, do so with grace and skill. As a parent, I would suggest Nokken is appropriate for girls 14 & up. There are some intense scenes, and younger girls should read it WITH their parents, but I don't know a woman who hasn't been effected by the rough side of misogyny, and it is something they need to learn how to deal with. Nokken walks a fine line, like the best of books, and handles the subject with incredible integrity. For all of that, and more you will have to read Nokken to fully appreciate, I'm giving Nokken one of my very rare 5/5 Star ratings!
