0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A good read By Amy I just love stories that take place in different periods of history. This author did a great job of portraying life during the beginning of the 20th Century. It also really made me think about love and how it can grow and mature. Also, it made me realize how difficult life can be when you don’t have enough money to pay for the basic necessities of life. The main character was smart, even if she did have a few flaws, but you couldn’t help but cheer for her. She was relatable and interesting, but definitely not cliche. I enjoyed the quasi-diary method used to indicate the date of each chapter. It was also interesting to see the main character change and grow as life threw her curve balls.
