Ghosts from the Past (Wiggons' School for Elegant Young Ladies), by Jane Charles

About the Author Jane Charles is a USA Today Bestselling author who has lived in the Midwest her entire life. As a child she would more likely be found outside with a baseball than a book in her hand. In fact, Jane hated reading until she was sixteen. Out of boredom on a long road trip she borrowed her older sister’s historical romance and fell in love. Eventually she penned one of the many stories that were always in her head and discovered her passion for writing. Jane is an author of both historical and contemporary and blames being a Gemini on why she can’t pick one over the other.

And the past continues By Dee Foster She lost her husband of mere hours & her brother the same night then carried away to England where she became a teacher at Wiggons School for Elegant Young Ladies. Natalie Pritchard has been leading a quiet life at the school with the exception of 3 students who keeps the teachers on alert. She’s happy with her life or so she thinks. Until the girls start whispering about “The Ghost” who stops carriages & steals a kiss from the women – this information puts her on edge & reminds her of her past.Anton Petrov only has revenge on his mind – revenge against the people who betrayed him to the Russian government which landed him in prison : his wife & her brother. His cell mate helped him survive by fueling the thirst for revenge. Anton & his friend have escaped & fled to England looking for Natasha & her brother. He’s traveled far & wide as The Ghost looking for them & has arrived in the town where the Wiggons School is located.Until the night that he finds Natalie/Natasha when he stops their carriage as they are returning to the school. Recognizing his wife he removes her from the carriage & a struggle ensues which has Natalie accidentally shooting him in the arm. As Natalie & the girls make their escape Anton follows. The days that follow are filled with questions, betrayal & misunderstandings. Not to mention the high jinks of the 3 students. Will Anton realize the truth about Natalie/Natasha & the night he was captured? Will he believe her story? Will Natalie forgive the lengths Anton goes to try & exact his revenge? Will they both see the different sides of each other that they have become over the years? Will they get their happily ever after before it is to late?Another well written story by Janes Charles that will have you on the edge of your seat wanting to smack Anton, smack Natalie & shake the girls. Anxiously awaiting the next Wiggons School for Elegant Young Ladies saga.

First they thought Lord Atwood was a vampire in "To Walk In The Sun", and now they think the kissing Ghost has returned to find his lost love who is of course, their teacher, Natalie.Mad Russians, abductions, betrayal, inheritance and a ghost float through the story as both Natalie and Anton try to figure out what is actually happening. A great addition to a fun new series. Got to hide those gothic romances from those girls before something really bad happens. Oh, well, I guess it already did happen.

By CKFashant Between political intrigue, assassination, highwaymen, "haunted mansions", and three mischievous little girls, this book has suspense written all over it. The characters are both familiar and new, as this is the long awaited second book in the Wiggons' School for Elegant Young Ladies. My biggest fear when picking up this book would be that too much time had passed between the first and second book and this book just wouldn't reach the bar the first one had set. I am pleased to say I was wrong...so so wrong. GHOSTS OF THE PAST soared far above the first book and took flight. The plot was so full of twists and turns I almost got dizzy keeping up, but it was worth it in the end when everything came together in a neat little package presented at the feet of the reader. Of course when the package was opened the reader was presented with yet another plot twist to salivate over while awaiting the third book in the series (hopefully out soon!).Jane Charles is painter of characters. She doesn't simply introduce stick figures and call them heroes. She delves into the shadows and creates complex and intriguing characters that are flawed and beautiful all at the same time. The fact that both the hero and heroine are guilty of misjudgment makes this story so much more awesome. Especially when the hero acts more like a villain at points.I know I already said it, but I am going to say it again. I loved this story, and I can't wait for the next one.
