He was a youth leader for the Churches of Christ from 1999-2009 and, since 2007, has been a Youth Worker at an Adelaide homeless youth shelter. WRIGHT published his first book, "St. Patrick's Church, Part One: The Beginning of the End" as a novel way of bridging the gap between theological academics and the non-academic community of everyday Church-goers and fringe-dwellers. The trilogy, though yet to be completely written, has already scored WRIGHT 3 years in a row of nominations for the national Young Australian Christian Writer's Award (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014). In 2012, he received 3rd place. His other work yet to be published includes thrilling escapades on the high seas, detective stories and suspenseful plays written for the stage - no story ending without a twist. All of this effort leading to the receiving of the City of Charles Sturt's "Art, Performance and Dance" Award 2013 for his contribution to literature, being described having written the next Agatha Christie with his own take on The Mousetrap - MURDER At Channing Ponds Station. WRIGHT gets involved with numerous other endeavours to keep him busy, including being a part of the Green Team at the South Australian Schoolies Festival and a South Australia Police Volunteer. He volunteered at the Sochi 2014 Russian Winter Olympics, volunteered as a youth worker in Siberia on a summer camp, and his sailing trips aboard the HMAS Bark Young Endeavour from Melbourne to Sydney (2008), the next on the Dutch Ship Tecla from Australia to New Zealand (2013) and again from Northern Ireland to Norway (2015) inspired the Legend of the Pioneers book series. WRIGHT has been an advocate for Foreign Aid during with the Oaktree Foundations' Roadtrips to End Poverty inspiring his work on The Draw of Allyson Jones.

By The Ryanator Wright takes the reader back to 1888 during the reign of Jack the Ripper then forward to 1900 on the brink of the Second Boer War when two officers are asked to solve the twelve year old case. He uses these characters to present all the Ripper facts to today's audience, hardly missing out on anything of importance, and shows how one could (possibly) solve the case.Whether he solves it in the end or not is despite the point and irrelevant. Wright delivers a thrilling narrative with some comical characters in a way that no one else has brought to a Jack re-telling. All the facts are there and I am sure down the track, this book will be the quintessential one everybody must quote and critique if they are ever going to prove their own theories. 10/10 hands down!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Ripper of a yarn! By Adam Thompson Brilliant book, really delves into the history so well it really transports you into London. The two detectives created for the story are brilliant and funny. It's hard to say too much without spoiling it, but the culprit Wright chooses seems based on brilliant logic and it makes me wonder why nobody has suspected this person before.If you are a Ripperologist, love the Ripper myth, love detective stories, are just a fan of Victorian London or even just enjoy a ripper of a yarn, then you will love this. If not, you will still enjoy this. 5 stars.
