Fun read By Coen Wubbels We Will Be Free made me smile a lot because I regularly identified myself with the Bell family's trip, being an overlander in South America myself. Simultaneously I felt the urge to keep on reading exactly because there were so many elements that are so distinct from my own journey, which surprised and captured me in many ways .I feel that We Will Be Free will be enjoyed by a variety of people. Of course it's a perfect book for other overlanders, but just as much for armchair travelers, or those who have been traveling the world using public transport. For the last two groups Graeme's account gives insight in the pros and cons when exploring the world with your own vehicle. Such as fabulous the freedom it brings, as well as the headaches (e.g. car issues). While the book doesn't dig deep into the issue of traveling with kids, I believe We Will Be Free may be an inspiration for (future) parents who dream of following the Bell's family in their footsteps: (long-term) traveling with kids is possible.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good reading By la tortuga We are planning our escape so I enjoy reading about other people s adventures. We also enjoy good food especially meat and seafood so appreciate his descriptions and their experiences of grilling and partying with new found friends. As a man I can relate to the mechanical issues, and descriptions of his wife's looks and punches to the arm on hairy roads. Would've given it a 5 if the book had some maps or drawings of the routes and more photos. I had some good laughs and enjoyed reading this book. I recommend this book.
